Reporter Highlights Coverage Challenges Experienced By Patients in 2012

Article: Top Care and Coverage Dilemmas
Anna Mathews of the Wall Street Journal recently took the time to review and read the 2012 Patient Data Analysis Report (PDAR) and discusses current trends in healthcare as seen through patients experience.

PAF’s PDAR report provides an overview of the difficulties that many patients encountered in 2012 when accessing healthcare and how the barriers they face change over time. The format of the PDAR allows readers to easily compare PAF patients across insurance types (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance), as well as across the defined subpopulations of the uninsured and pediatric patients. Through this important tool, all stakeholders—from patient advocate groups to insurers and policymakers—can now examine demographic and clinical data in order to better understand and address the barriers to access faced by each of these specific subgroups.
